🏆 Simoldes Plásticos awarded the “Mais a Norte” Innovation Prize for the LEIMSA Project
We are proud to announce that the R&D project LEIMSA – Lightweight Electronics by Injection Moulding in Seamless Architecture, led by Simoldes Plásticos, has been awarded the “Mais a Norte” Innovation Prize, in the +Innovative Companies category.
This recognition, granted by the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of Northern Portugal (CCDR-N), highlights LEIMSA as the most innovative project among the three finalists, thanks to its disruptive approach to thermoplastic injection moulding. The project pioneers the integration of decorative and functional elements, enabling smart and tactile surfaces with immersive interfaces and attractive design.
Spanning 36 months, LEIMSA was developed by a top-tier consortium including Simoldes Plásticos S.A., Celoplás, Bosch, DTx CoLAB, CEiiA, and the University of Minho. Together, we created solutions that enhance design flexibility, reduce assembly complexity, and promote more sustainable manufacturing practices.
This award marks a significant milestone in our innovation journey and reinforces Simoldes’ commitment to technological advancement and industrial excellence.
