On February 23, 2025, the Oliveira de Azeméis City Council paid a heartfelt tribute to Mr. António da Silva Rodrigues, founder of the Simoldes Group, marking his 83rd birthday and recognizing his exemplary career in the development of Industry and the Community.

At this ceremony, he was presented with an honorary distinction, a symbol of appreciation and gratitude for his tireless contribution to business and social progress. The Portuguese Business Association (AEP) awarded the Simoldes Group the AEP Company Career Award, in recognition of its success in the field of mold production and injection of plastic parts.
The award was handed to Engineer Manuel Alegria on behalf of our founder and chairman, Antonio da Silva Rodrigues, during the celebratory dinner marking the 175th anniversary of AEP. The award was received from the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, and from the chairman of Bial and president of the Bial Foundation, Luís Portela.

Simoldes Group in partnership with Vasco da Gama CoLab developed and produced the first Sodium Ion coin cell battery in Portugal.
Sodium ion technology allows the construction of batteries with higher power density compared to lithium batteries, safer and cheaper.
