Project “BluEnergy”:


  • The BluEnergy project aims at:

– the design and development of low-cost, durable redox flow batteries and their production process to store energy from renewable sources

– the development of a new concept of electrodes and a new energy storage system based on polyoxometalates (POMs).


  • Investment of 1,176,836.79
  • Co-financed under the Portugal 2020 programme with a grant of 704,096.18 euros (from the European Regional Development Fund)
  • The project will be in force for three years (from June 2020 to June 2023)
  • Simoldes Plásticos as promoter
  • Visblue Portugal and Universidade do Porto as co-promoters
