The main goal of the LH4Auto project is to encourage the development of innovative multifunctional pieces in a thermoplastic matrix with lighting and heating capabilities for application in automotive. The design approach is supported by new technologies for the functionalization of polymeric substrates with illumination capacity through multi-layer deposition coating, and the new production technologies for the functionalization of pieces by integrating fibrous materials with the ability to conduct energy. The LH4Auto is a 3 year project with a total investment of 1.571.894,12 Euros, this project is co-financed under Portugal P2020 – PSA Suppliers Clube Program with an incentive of 936.335,56 Euros. Project Consortium consists of two companies, Simoldes Plásticos and Peugeot Citroen Automóveis de Portugal (PSA MG), and the University of Minho. The LH4Auto project will also have PSA Peugeot Citroën Group as a partner, which will involve in the project a team coordinated from its Innovation and Design Department (PSA ID), in order to guide the innovation produced to the specific requirements of the automobiles builders, mainly in the areas of design, ergonomics, marketing and architecture, ensuring innovation and reducing the time-to-market for solutions to be developed.
